Mobile Data Not Working - Complete Fix Guide
Your eSIM shows signal bars but you can't browse the internet or use apps? This is usually a data configuration issue. Follow these steps to fix it.
Step 1: Verify Your Data Line
The most common cause is that your phone is trying to use data through the wrong SIM.
iPhone:
- Go to Settings → Cellular
- Tap Cellular Data
- Select your Roambit eSIM (not your primary SIM)
Android:
- Go to Settings → SIMs or SIM Manager
- Tap Mobile data
- Select your Roambit eSIM
Step 2: Enable Data Roaming
Data roaming must be turned ON for all international eSIM plans:
iPhone:
- Settings → Cellular → tap your Roambit eSIM
- Toggle Data Roaming to ON
Android:
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
- Toggle Roaming to ON
Step 3: Check APN Settings
Some networks require specific APN (Access Point Name) settings:
iPhone:
- Settings → Cellular → tap Roambit eSIM
- Tap Cellular Data Network
- Verify the APN field matches what Roambit provided
- If blank, enter:
roambit(or check your confirmation email for the specific APN)
Android:
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
- Tap Access Point Names
- Verify or add the correct APN
Step 4: Switch Network Mode
Sometimes switching from 5G to 4G/LTE can stabilize your data connection:
iPhone:
- Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options
- Tap Voice & Data
- Select LTE instead of 5G
Android:
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
- Tap Preferred network type
- Select LTE/4G
Step 5: Toggle Airplane Mode
- Turn Airplane Mode ON
- Wait 10-15 seconds
- Turn Airplane Mode OFF
- Wait for the network to reconnect
Step 6: Restart Your Device
A full restart can clear cached network settings:
- Power off your phone completely
- Wait 30 seconds
- Turn it back on
- Wait for the network to register (may take 1-2 minutes)
Step 7: Disable Wi-Fi
Sometimes Wi-Fi and cellular data conflict:
- Turn off Wi-Fi completely
- Disable Wi-Fi Calling if enabled
- Test your cellular data connection
