Mobile Data Not Working - Complete Fix Guide

Your eSIM shows signal bars but you can't browse the internet or use apps? This is usually a data configuration issue. Follow these steps to fix it.

Step 1: Verify Your Data Line

The most common cause is that your phone is trying to use data through the wrong SIM.

iPhone:

  1. Go to SettingsCellular
  2. Tap Cellular Data
  3. Select your Roambit eSIM (not your primary SIM)

Android:

  1. Go to SettingsSIMs or SIM Manager
  2. Tap Mobile data
  3. Select your Roambit eSIM

Step 2: Enable Data Roaming

Data roaming must be turned ON for all international eSIM plans:

iPhone:

  1. Settings → Cellular → tap your Roambit eSIM
  2. Toggle Data Roaming to ON

Android:

  1. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
  2. Toggle Roaming to ON

Step 3: Check APN Settings

Some networks require specific APN (Access Point Name) settings:

iPhone:

  1. Settings → Cellular → tap Roambit eSIM
  2. Tap Cellular Data Network
  3. Verify the APN field matches what Roambit provided
  4. If blank, enter: roambit (or check your confirmation email for the specific APN)

Android:

  1. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
  2. Tap Access Point Names
  3. Verify or add the correct APN

Step 4: Switch Network Mode

Sometimes switching from 5G to 4G/LTE can stabilize your data connection:

iPhone:

  1. Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options
  2. Tap Voice & Data
  3. Select LTE instead of 5G

Android:

  1. Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Roambit eSIM
  2. Tap Preferred network type
  3. Select LTE/4G

Step 5: Toggle Airplane Mode

  1. Turn Airplane Mode ON
  2. Wait 10-15 seconds
  3. Turn Airplane Mode OFF
  4. Wait for the network to reconnect

Step 6: Restart Your Device

A full restart can clear cached network settings:

  1. Power off your phone completely
  2. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Turn it back on
  4. Wait for the network to register (may take 1-2 minutes)

Step 7: Disable Wi-Fi

Sometimes Wi-Fi and cellular data conflict:

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi completely
  2. Disable Wi-Fi Calling if enabled
  3. Test your cellular data connection

Still Not Working?

  • Check your data balance - You may have used all your data
  • Verify plan validity - Your plan may have expired
  • Try a different location - You might be in an area with poor coverage
  • Contact Support - Include your device model, OS version, and location
