How to Install eSIM on Huawei Devices

Huawei devices support eSIM through EMUI and HarmonyOS. This guide covers installation on compatible Huawei smartphones.

• Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro+
• Huawei P50, P50 Pro
• Huawei P60, P60 Pro, P60 Art
• Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro
• Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro
• Huawei Mate X2, Mate X3, Mate X5

Note: Availability may vary by region. Some carrier-specific models may not support eSIM.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Open eSIM Settings

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap Mobile network
3. Tap SIM management
4. Tap Add eSIM or +

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

1. Select Scan QR code
2. Point your camera at the Roambit QR code
3. Wait for the code to be recognized

Step 3: Download and Install

1. Review the plan details on screen
2. Tap Download
3. Wait for the eSIM profile to install (this may take up to 2 minutes)
4. Tap Done when complete

Step 4: Configure

1. Go to Settings → Mobile network → SIM management
2. Tap your new Roambit eSIM
3. Enable the eSIM line
4. Set it as your default data SIM
5. Enable Data roaming:
   • Tap Mobile network
   • Select the Roambit eSIM
   • Toggle Data roaming to ON

Important Notes for Huawei Users

• EMUI 10+ or HarmonyOS 2+ is required
• Some Huawei models sold in certain markets have eSIM disabled - contact Huawei support to verify
• If your device uses HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) instead of Google services, the eSIM setup process may look slightly different but functions the same
• Make sure to disable VPN during installation

Troubleshooting

If installation fails:

1. Restart your device and try again
2. Ensure your Wi-Fi connection is stable
3. Check that your device isn't carrier-locked
4. Try the manual code entry method from your purchase email
