Setting Up eSIM on Google Pixel
Google Pixel phones offer one of the smoothest eSIM installation experiences on Android. This guide covers Pixel 3 and all newer models.
Compatible Pixel Devices
All Google Pixel devices from Pixel 3 onwards support eSIM:
- Pixel 3, 3a, 3 XL, 3a XL
- Pixel 4, 4a, 4a 5G, 4 XL
- Pixel 5, 5a
- Pixel 6, 6a, 6 Pro
- Pixel 7, 7a, 7 Pro
- Pixel 8, 8a, 8 Pro
- Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro Fold
- Pixel Fold
Installation Steps
Step 1: Access SIM Settings
- Open Settings
- Tap Network & internet
- Tap SIMs
- Tap the + icon or Add button
Step 2: Download the eSIM
- Tap Download a SIM instead? (if prompted)
- Tap Next
- When the camera opens, scan your Roambit QR code
- The profile will begin downloading automatically
Step 3: Activate
- Once downloaded, tap Install
- Wait for activation to complete
- Tap Done
Step 4: Configure
- Go back to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
- Tap your Roambit eSIM
- Toggle Use SIM to ON
- Set as preferred data SIM
- Enable Roaming
Pixel-Specific Features
Quick Settings Tile
Pixel phones have a built-in SIM toggle in Quick Settings:
- Swipe down from the top twice
- Tap Edit (pencil icon)
- Add Mobile data tile
- Use it to quickly switch your data SIM
Android 14+ eSIM Transfer
On Pixel phones running Android 14 or later, you can transfer an eSIM between Pixel devices:
- On your new phone, go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
- Tap Transfer SIM from another device
- Follow the on-screen instructions
After Setup
- Enable data roaming before you travel
- Test the connection at home by temporarily switching data to your Roambit eSIM
- Label your eSIM with the destination country for easy identification
