APN Configuration Guide for All Carriers

APN (Access Point Name) settings tell your phone how to connect to the mobile data network. Most Roambit eSIMs configure APN automatically, but sometimes manual configuration is needed.

When Do You Need to Set APN Manually?

  • Your eSIM connects to a network but data doesn't work
  • You see signal bars but can't browse the internet
  • You received specific APN instructions from Roambit Support

Default Roambit APN Settings

For most Roambit eSIM plans, use these settings:

Setting Value
APN globaldata
Username (leave blank)
Password (leave blank)
Authentication None
APN Protocol IPv4/IPv6
APN Roaming Protocol IPv4/IPv6
MMSC (leave blank)
MMS Proxy (leave blank)
MCC (auto-detected)
MNC (auto-detected)

Note: Some destinations may require a different APN. Check your purchase confirmation email for destination-specific APN details.

How to Configure APN

iPhone:

  1. Go to SettingsCellular
  2. Tap your Roambit eSIM plan
  3. Tap Cellular Data Network
  4. In the APN field, enter the APN value from above
  5. Leave all other fields blank (unless specified)
  6. Go back - settings save automatically

iPhone Note: If you don't see the "Cellular Data Network" option, your eSIM's APN is locked by the carrier profile. Restart your device and try again.

Android:

  1. Go to SettingsNetwork & internetSIMs
  2. Tap your Roambit eSIM
  3. Tap Access Point Names (APN)
  4. Tap the + icon to add a new APN
  5. Enter the settings from the table above
  6. Tap the three-dot menuSave
  7. Select the new APN as your active one

Samsung:

  1. Go to SettingsConnectionsMobile networks
  2. Make sure your Roambit eSIM is selected
  3. Tap Access Point Names
  4. Tap Add
  5. Enter the APN settings
  6. Tap Save
  7. Select the new APN

After Configuring APN

  1. Toggle Airplane Mode on/off
  2. Restart your device
  3. Wait 1-2 minutes for the network to reconnect
  4. Test your data connection by opening a web browser

Troubleshooting APN Issues

  • Can't edit APN: Some carrier profiles lock APN settings. Try resetting network settings.
  • APN resets after restart: Re-enter the APN and ensure you've saved it properly.
  • Still no data after APN change: Try switching between IPv4 and IPv4/IPv6 in the APN Protocol setting.
  • Multiple APNs listed: Make sure you select the Roambit APN as the active one, not a leftover from a previous SIM.
